About Us

Alex and Christine Schafer moved to Wanaka from Germany in 2001 where they successfully established their self-contained Chalet and Bed & Breakfast business. Their personal approach, unique styled units and an eye for detail sets them apart from the average accommodation. Their slogan “Peak-Sportchalet, refreshingly different!” says it all.

Alex, a passionate cross country skier and runner, is in high demand during the Winter time, with Ski National Teams from USA, Canada, Japan, Slovakia and Poland asking for his expertise as Sports Massage Therapist. He also looks after many multi sports athletes in the Summer.

Christine wears many heads, from a background in woodwork and banking, book publishing, to the fine art of making guests feel very welcome with homemade goods popping up as little treats wherever they turn.

They have 2 children, Josephine (15) and Lukas (11).

"We look forward to meeting you!"
